Smackdown

The smackdown app I chose was LinkedIn. It is a fun and easy way to connect with friends, coworkers, and career fields you might be interested in. It is American made and is mostly used for networking. They put their members first and take their words into consideration

LinkedIn helps with networking and how to find jobs while connecting with people in that field. You can follow all the companies of your career choice and even apply for a job through the app. If a member from a company sees your account, they can reach out to you first. 64% of people who are looking for jobs through LinkedIn get hired from referral.

LinkedIn is a great way to stay connected to people and jobs. It helps with your social skills also, by talking to people online and getting to know them before meeting them in person. If you want to learn more about this cool app, watch this video! https://youtu.be/t_bPM6IRsxc

  7. LinkedIn is amazing for networking, even beyond your level! I once interviewed the CEO of my favorite Esports broadcasting company by just reaching out to him on LinkedIn, which was amazing! I'm sure plenty of other connections are out there, but with so much to do, it's hard to stay active on such a site.

  12. I've started to check my LinkedIn as regularly as my other social media apps, mainly because I am looking to start getting into my field and seeing how others post and act on that app is helping me figure out how to emulate a professional social media page. Hopefully if I attain an entry level biology position and maintain that for my last year at Stockton, I'll have the degree and work experience to apply to higher grade positions right off the bat. I am also searching the representatives from departments I am interested in applying to.

  13. LinkedIn was actually going to be the tool I was going to use, until I saw that you already took it. LinkedIn is one of the best tools you can use career-wise. It is like a social media for your career, which would've been a bizarre concept 10 years ago, but today is increasingly becoming an important tool that employers utilize to find potential hires. It makes the whole weeding out process insanely easy as-well. Overall it was a fantastic presentation and is an awesome website that I personally think we will become very connected to once we start looking for a career after college.
